This YouTube video from the Discovery Channel program “More than Human” features a woman who is the world’s fastest talker. She’s fast! But totally incomprehensible. Not sure that’s such a good thing, is it? Interesting to hear about how Broca’s area is responsible for her being able to process the language and the motor planning so quickly to be able to spit those words out.

For me, the most interesting part was when they slowed it down to intelligible speed to hear how she did it: monotone, almost no emphasis, and really good chunking of long thoughts. Now those are things we could all experiment with in order to go faster.
